Danny Gokey Day

When the girls got home from school I said, "quick get in the car, we are going somewhere".
"Where? Where?"
"It's going to be a surprise and you are going to love it!"
Then the questions began:
"Are we going somewhere far?"
"Are there animals there?"
"Are any of our friends going to be there?"
I let them ask questions and as we were driving out of town we gave them hints until they figured it out.
"What t.v. shows do you watch?"
"Ummmmm, Home Makeover?"
"No, what else do you watch?"
"American Idol?"
"YES! We are going to go see Danny Gokey!"
Squeals of delight (quite loud when you are in a car).
So we drove to Milwaukee. When we got downtown the traffic was crazy busy and there was nowhere to park. So Mike dropped us off and "Us Girls" rushed to the concert at Summerfest. We were able to squeeze into an area to the right side of the stage, but we were WAY back.

So I picked the girls up as far as I could so that they could catch glimpses of Danny.
This is the view I had:
When I couldn't hold them up any longer, we decided to hit the restrooms. While we were there, we noticed people standing at the top of some bleachers (in the sport area). So we headed up there and then I could finally see the concert.

Yes he looked to be about the size of an ant, but at least I could see. They estimate that about 25,000 people attended the concert.
When the concert was over and we shuffled our way out, we all received free tickets to Summerfest! Then, we lined up on the street (our timing was incredible) just in time to see Danny drive by.

After Danny was out of sight, I was fortunate enough to spot a Movie Star in the crowd:

(Hee Hee! I won't stop teasing him anytime soon.)

She Won a Nintendo DSi

Just in time for our big road trip to Georiga and South Carolina, G. won a DSi in a coloring contest at HuHot. HuHot is a really fun restaurant where you can pick all of your ingredients and then they cook it on a huge flat-top grill. We were there twice in about a week's time. They are having their "grand opening". We won a free dinner (1 in 10 adults win) and $5 off our next meal. Then we got a call saying that G. won the coloring contest.

Just as an FYI. With the DSi you can take pictures, record sound, play games and get on the internet! Mommy just might have to check this thing out, too! Maybe after the kids are in bed.
