Public Enemies--The Movie Star & his Wife

I am so proud of "My Movie Star" husband. He had a lot of fun working on the movie Public Enemies as an extra and stand-in. Here are pictures from the June 30th Public Enemies premiere and "VIP" cocktail party in Madison, WI.

This is Movie Star/aka Mike on the "red carpet" at the party:

In case you are wondering, yes, we did see Mike in the movie. However, you need to know exactly when and where to look. There is a scene where Dillinger (Johnny Depp) is at a stop light in Greencastle Indiana. He is tapping his hands on the steering wheel waiting for the light to change. On the other side of the intersection is the police car that Mike road in. You can see him in the back seat on the passengers side.
Mike was an extra in the big courtroom scene. However, he is pretty sure that someone's head was in the way, so we couldn't see him. When the movie comes out on DVD we will play it slowly to see if that is the case.
The one scene that I thought couldn't get cut out of the movie--was cut out. Urgh!
The most fun part of watching the movie with Mike was when he pointed out the parts he played as a stand-in. He would say, "I was that guy." He was stand-in for Baby Face Nelson among others. At one point Mike had to play dead for almost an hour while the director, Michael Mann, got everything the way he wanted. I think he had more fun as a stand-in than he did as an extra.
This was a neat opportunity for Mike to see and be a part of a major motion picture. He didn't have any kind of major role, but--but hey, it's still really cool! So I affectionately started calling him "My Movie Star" and my friends on the internet know me as the Movie Star Wife (or MSW).
