I'm going to school to become a registered nurse. I have discovered, that during my first semester of nursing, I worked harder and longer than I ever did for my BS degree. The second semester is no different. I have numerous exams and quizzes every week, so I spend a LOT of time studying. I'm so glad that I am NOT younger while doing this. I can't imagine dating, hanging out with friends, partying, etc. while taking Nursing courses. Although, many people point out to me that I have two kids and two jobs. True! I'm not sure which would be harder.
Here are my nursing books. Yes--I use ALL OF THEM! I spread out on the kitchen table with several books at a time, my computer, my binders, and there is no room to eat dinner.
Tonight I am studying cardiac stuff: hypertension, angina, congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, shock, and coronary heart disease. I need to know the medications, the side effects, the symptoms, the assessments, and the nursing diagnoses. Ugh.
So--there is a lot of memorizing to be done tonight. Technically, I shouldn't even be blogging, so I better get to it!

Aww MSW I am so proud of you! It really does take both compassion and hard work to get a nursing degree...and you have more of that than you know!
I actually liked school when I was younger. Maybe one day I will go back again. I feel acomplished when I pass a test, or learn something new!
Good luck on your tests and quizzes!!!
Yikes!! MSW, that is a lot of books!
One thing I noticed when I went to college...I enjoyed it. I was studying things that I was interested in. That made all the difference for me. I'm sure you are enjoying learning some of this stuff...that's why you chose nursing, right? LOL
Keep working & studying hard, love! Everyday you're one step closer to your degree!!
